Limo Driver Arrested For Drunk Driving 6th time
A licensed limousine driver arrested for drunk driving in a company car is discovered to already have five previous DUI convictions. Richard Chenoweth, 57, was caught drink driving, swerving and driving over the speed limit in a company limousine in Marco Island, Florida. And after checking his records police found that Mr Chenoweth, who worked for Classic Transportation limousine Hire Company, had five prior DUI convictions in Minnesota.
Police pulled over and arrested Mr Chenoweth who was driving at 45mph on the 30mph limit North Barfield road close to midnight last Wednesday night. Despite his five drinks driving convictions Mr Chenoweth was granted the licence required for people who drive taxis and limousines in Collier County.
He managed to pass the background check to obtain the 'hack licence' needed to carry passengers as checks for DUI convictions only go back three years and all of Mr Chenoweth's DUI convictions were from the 1980's and 1990's. The background checks go back 20 years for murder and 10 years for a misdemeanour or felony. Last year Ronald Dion employed Mr Chenoweth as a part time driver for his limousine company, Classic Transportation, after making sure he had passed the background check required by Collier County. |
